What is Counselling?
What is Counselling?
Counselling offers a safe space to explore and process what's going on for you at your pace. It's dedicated time and space for you where you'll be met with curiosity, empathy, and no judgement. As the counsellor, my role is to sit alongside you in that exploration and help make sense of what's going on without telling you what to do, and to help you on your journey to your goals.

How can I help as a counsellor?
Sometimes reaching out to friends or family can be daunting and feel complicated. Maybe they're involved in the situation or you want to process something around them, maybe you fear what they'll say if you shared your thoughts, or you feel you'll be a burden to them. As a counsellor, I am external and can help you unpick what's going on for you, offer insights and notice patterns, give you a voice to things you might hide away - all without fear of judgement. The space is yours, for you to be truly you.

It might be that you’re looking for a place to vent about life. Maybe you’d like to begin to process events from your past or start to sit with your emotions. It might be that you don’t know what you’re looking for from counselling, but know you want some space and time for you. All of that, and more, is okay. Counselling can be a place for a myriad of different goals and wishes.

I offer a safe space for you to come with no pressure, and no judgement – a place for you to come and just be. I will sit alongside you, letting you freely and openly talk about things that may be difficult to talk about anywhere else, and offer empathy and warmth as we go through this journey together. My goal is to offer a place for you to be truly seen and heard. You, as the client, are at the heart of our therapeutic relationship as client and counsellor, and it’s my privilege to be alongside you.

Here are some of the areas I have experience working with:

There are lots of reasons that bring people to counselling - these are just some of the themes that I have supported clients with.
Other areas I can support:
As someone with rosacea who has dealt with flare ups, I understand how hard issues relating to skin can be. I have a special interest in offering support to those whose mental health has been affected by skin-related health conditions, such as rosacea, acne, eczema, skin picking and more.
